The year was 1998. Or 1999. Or 2000. I have no idea, actually. But standing on a sidewalk outside a burning warehouse in the bitter cold, covering a fire for my newspaper in *cough*HIO, the ink in my pen froze. It pissed me off. I moved South.
But before making my early transition to Midwestern snowbird, I dreamed of writing for a magazine with vision. I wanted to BE Nikki Hardin, publisher of Skirt!
Alas, Nikki was still operating the mag out of the trunk of her car in those days, so needless to say, no job was to be had.
So...shit happened, years passed and last night, thanks to Savannah Skirt! Editor Jessica Lebos I got to meet Nikki at a kickin' party the girls at Savannah Skirt! hosted to celebrate the release of Nikki's book, PMS (Problems Men Started).
Nikki and Jessica
Nikki might think I'm her stalker, but seriously, I do this sort of thing all the time. No worries. No boiling bunnies in your future. At least not from me.
