Jezebel.Com: "Why Palin incites violent rage in normally reasonable women"

My Boy BFF sent me this link which explains some of my Palin Hate over the last couple weeks. I am not 100 percent proud of my, um, addiction to disliking her. But it's not all about partisan politics. Her shit is dangerous. Did anyone catch the spectacle last night of the cameras trained on the crowd of people milling around the set of steps at the airport in Alaska waiting for her private plane to arrive? Good thing she got rid of that "over the top" corporate jet! If people want to idolize her, why doesn't she just announce a tour like Hannah Montana and leave the adults alone?

Feminism

On my planet, I thought feminism was about women having the choice to live their lives they way they saw fit, no matter what they chose, as long as the rights of others were not infringed, just like men. But it seems there's this contingent of feminists that look down their noses at women who actually choose a more traditional stay-at-home role (even as our sandbagged economy makes that harder year after year). In my opinion, that's just sexism of another kind. "You're free to be a go-getter in government, industry or academia like me, or you're part of the patriarchal system of oppression." You're either with us or against us, anyone?

Many people in the US, left and right, now seem to believe "thou art free, as long as thee art like me." This polarization hurts the average people while the political elite use it for their own ends. We the people voted overwhelmingly for Democratic representatives in 2006, largely on an antiwar sentiment, and what did we get? The surge.

Okay, I rambled from my original topic a bit, but I find that I can't separate issues because they're connected as large systems of what is essentially thought control. Non mainstream ideas are impractical because their mainstream. Never mind reality. The earth is the center of the universe used to be a mainstream idea, too.

For the record, I'm not a Palin supporter, though I find her less objectionable (so far) than McCain. Not that I'm saying much. I'd rather eat shards of boiling hot glass than vote for John Douchebag McCain. ;-)

Early onset Alzheimers

The second sentence in the next to the last paragraph should read "Non-mainstream ideas are impractical because they're not mainstream." Lord, I'm an idiot.

You're not an idiot, Randy

I can't even spell Tucson, remember? :) hehehehe.

My Palin hate has dwindled since seeing her in the Charlie Gibson interview. She really "showed her ass" as my dear Savannahians like to say, which makes her seem less dangerous (electable), at least to people who don't want a puppet running the country in case McSame kicks it.

I don't begrudge Sarah Palin "having it all" as long as she and her puritanical ideas stay in BFE Alaska! :)

Cultural Slip Showing...

Hey, your liberal cultural slip is showing again. These are people that you will never, ever see, read about, hear from, or talk to. They don't have blogs, don't have Facebook or Twitter, and wouldn't know chai tea from a kick in the ass.

And they have kids. Lots of them. And shop at Wal-Mart.

And they vote.

Don't worry, ya'll have the elitist vote pretty well sewn up though.

Touche, I guess

Me so cultured. Born in West Virginia and straight from the hills of Appalachian Ohio...I mean, just read my stinking blog. I'm obviously part of The Elite.

I'm OK with Walmart in small doses. I see few differences between Walmart and Target, besides maybe wider aisles and blue and red branding.

yes

Very good article thank you
