...but these were some yummy Thai Burgers from the LHJ (see how I took the lame out of Ladies' Home Journal? Like taking the Fried Chicken out of KFC). We avoided the mayo, of course (gross!).
Burgers with a Taste of Thai
Source: Ladies Home Journal
Makes 4 servings
Prep: 15 minutes
Grill: 10 minutes
Ingredients
1 pound ground sirloin
3 tablespoons purchased Thai peanut sauce
2 minced green onions
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Cilantro leaves
Mayonnaise
Directions
1. Prepare a covered grill for direct grilling. In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin, Thai peanut sauce, green onions, fresh lime juice, garlic, ginger, salt, and pepper.
2. Form 4 hamburger patties, about 4 inches in diameter. Grill patties 10 minutes, turning once after 5 minutes until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the side of each burger registers 160 degree F. Place buns on the grill just long enough to toast slightly. Place each burger with cilantro leaves and lightly spread buns with mayonnaise. Makes 4 servings.
